Error 691: The computer you are dialing in to cannot establish a Dial-Up Networking connection. Check your password, and then try again.

Error 691: Access was denied because the username and/or password was invalid on the domain..

CAUSE:

This behavior can occur if any of the following conditions are true:

The Include Windows logon domain check box is selected in the Options tab of the dial-up connection's Properties dialog box.
-or-

An incorrect user name or password is used.
-or-

The dial-up connection's security option is incorrectly configured to use the Require secured password setting.


SOLUTION:

This means your connection attempt has been refused for the reason due to incorrect login details. This can be resolved by following these steps:

a) Ensure you are using the correct username and password.

b) Please also bear in mind the password is case sensitive, check your Caps Lock function on the keyboard to ensure you are not typing capital letter when you intend to type in lower-case.

c) Even if your username and password is automatically saved from previous connections it is possible for this information to become corrupted. Please delete anything saved and attempt to retype the correct information.

OR

Tell your ISP to release your Mac Address because your Mac Address is locked by the server.

What is a MAC locked account ?

A MAC locked account is a discounted account for students and SINGLE PC owners. Being a Shared system everyone shares the cost incurred and for low end users we believe it is not fair to bear the load of multiPC users.In a MAC locked account the MAC address of the PC is locked in our system and unless you change the LAN card it is not reset by us. This means ONLY that PC can access that account and use it.
